Baked Brie in Puff Pastry

This is a wonderful side dish or appetizer to serve as a part of a New Year’s eve or day meal, or to serve as an appetizer in the evening. It is simple to make, and takes less than a half of an hour to prepare. This can be served with your favorite crackers and fruits on the side.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 package of puff pastry thawed
  • 1 8 ounce wheel of Brie cheese
  • 1/4 cup of sliced almonds

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a pan (baking sheet or pie pan work best) lightly with butter or cooking spray.

Cut the wheel of brie in half splitting it into two identical rounds. Lay the puff pastry down in the bottom of the greased pan, and layer it with the first half of the brie cheese with the rind down, the almonds, and the second half of the brie cheese with the rind up. Fold the puff pastry up over the Brie cheese and pinch shut.

Place the pan in the middle of the oven and bake for approximately 15 to 20 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
