Divine Dinner Rolls - Kitchen Chatters
≡ Menu

Ingredients:

  • 3 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ¼ cup warm milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ¼ cup butter, melted (optional)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup butter, softened

Instructions:

Pour milk into a large mixing bowl, and sprinkle in the yeast. Allow to rest 5 minutes until it gets a little foamy. Beat the eggs, sugar, softened butter, and salt into the yeast mixture. Stir in the flour until it forms a not sticky-but not dry kind of dough. Cover the bowl and let rise in a warm place for about an hour. Put the dough on a lightly floured surface, and knead with the palms of your hand for about a minute. Break up the dough into 3 inch pieces, and roll lightly with your hands to form rolls. Cover again, and let rise until they double in size (about 30 mins). Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F, and grease a baking dish (9×13). Bake rolls for about 10-15 minutes, or until they’re golden brown. If you prefer, drizzle melted butter on the tops of them.
