The Crock-Pot SCVC609SS 6-Quart Oval Programmable Slow Cooker looks pretty good on paper but unfortunately, customers who have purchased it would disagree. When researching this product we found several dozen reviews and it received an average user rating of just 2.1 out of a possible 5 stars. The negative reviews actually outnumber the positive reviews by more than 3 to 1.
One customer that left a negative review online said that this crockpot burned everything. They put it on the lowest setting possible and it still burned all of their food. They said that they cooked meatballs and had it on the warm setting and “within three hours the meat was charred black and the sauce was basically a crust.”
This customer was not the only one who had an issue with the Crock-Pot SCVC609SS being way too hot. Several other customers said that this unit is way too hot even on the warm setting. Some customers even said that the outside of this cooker gets too hot which is quite dangerous because you can burn yourself.
There were also several negative reviews from people who said they had the Crock-Pot SCVC609SS for two years or less before things broke or the product stopped working. One person said that they had a broken handle, another person said that the controller has failed, and several others said that the stoneware pot has cracked.
We could go on and on talking about all of the negative reviews that this product received but when the negative reviews for a product outnumber the positive reviews by a factor of more than 3 to 1, it’s usually a good idea to keep shopping for a better alternative.
