First Impressions

Upon opening the box it is easy to see that the Cuisinart All-Foods portable gas grill has been made using high quality parts with attention to detail throughout. While the overall design may not be among the most spectacular on the market, like most Cuisinart appliances it is easy to see the attention to detail for which this company has long been well-known.

In many ways the All-Foods gas grill looks like a scaled down version of a freestanding grill. Among the many features offered by this grill are:

  • 12,000 BTU max output using a single tubular burner
  • 240 Square inches of cooking surface
  • 304 Stainless steel burner
  • 430 Stainless steel lid
  • Cast iron grill which is porcelain coated
  • 2 Fold out stainless steel tables
  • Piezoelectric ignition

The Cuisinart All-Foods 12,000-BTU Portable Outdoor Tabletop Propane Gas Grill has been designed to use with either a 14.1 or 16.4 ounce disposable propane cylinder. However, you can easily convert the grill for use with a 20 pound or larger propane tank by purchasing the optional adapter. The larger cylinder provides far longer cooking times without having to worry about running out of fuel when cooking a meal.

Weighing in at only 35 pounds, the All-Foods Grill is the perfect size and weight to take camping, tailgating, picnicking, and a wide range of other activities. When folded up for transportation, this Cuisinart gas grill fits easily into the trunk of most cars. The two built in handles make it easy for one or two people to load and unload the grill and carry it over longer distances. The optional stand folds down to only 2.5 inches thick making it easy to set this grill up practically anywhere in just minutes.

Cooking Performance

No matter how nice a grill might look when taken out of the box, what really counts is how well it performs. Getting started is simple as the TwiStart® ignitions system requires only one hand to turn on the burner and ignite the flames. With a maximum output of 12,000 BTUs, the single loop stainless steel burner heats up the cast iron grates to cooking temperature in a matter of minutes. More importantly the single loop burner manages to distribute this heat evenly across the entire 240 square inches of cooking surface.

Many of the other brands of portable gas grills fail to reach a maximum temperature of 500 degrees Fahrenheit, something the Cuisinart All-Foods portable gas grill manages with ease. While most people do not cook at this temperature, this is a good example of what makes this grill one of the best on the market. The double insulated lid not only helps speed up reaching desired temperatures, but also helps to maintain them and restore them after the lid has been opened.

The custom designed grate is flat on one side to ensure perfect grill lines on steaks, poultry, and many other cuts of meat. The other side is curved and is ideal for use with delicate dishes such as fish or vegetables. No matter which side is being use, the overall design helps to evenly distribute cooking heat and ensure that there are not cold or hotspots over the entire cooking surface.

Final Thoughts

The Cuisinart All-Foods 12,000-BTU Portable Outdoor Tabletop Propane Gas Grill may be a little more expensive than many of the other brands on the market. However, it offers exceptional versatility in a smaller but still very powerful grill. The Cuisinart All-Foods gas grill generates more than enough heat to cook a wide range of foods, and the built in thermometer helps to ensure perfect heat management. Overall the All-Foods offers exceptional value in a portable gas grill and is well worth investing in.

The Cuisinart portable grill rated very high on Amazon with a few exceptions. Those who loved the grill were impressed with the quality of the pieces and how heavy duty the materials used to build the grill were. Nearly everyone said that it heats up hot and is great for searing meats on. Many customers liked the fact that the grill is not very heavy and is easily transported. Those that did not like the grill purchased defective units or were concerned about how well this unit held up in the weather. Also there is a design flaw that causes this grill to experience problems with a 20lb propane tank, however there is a fix for it. If you are looking for a good quality, affordable grill to take on the go this unit is perfect and highly recommended.
