The Reviews

The reviews for the Hamilton Beach 76500 Walk ‘N Cut Cordless Can Opener are pretty disappointing. We found this can opener for sale on dozens of retailers websites but the only website that had any user reviews was Amazon.com. At the time of this writing there were 182 reviews and this product received an average user rating of just 3.2 out of a possible 5 stars.

There were quite a few positive reviews but nearly half the reviews were people leaving negative comments. The people that liked this can opener said that it does a good job on almost all cans. One person said that it struggles a bit with the big, heavy duty coffee cans but with everything else there are no problems. This person says that with normal, everyday use they only have to recharge this can opener once every 3 to 4 weeks.

One positive review came from someone that said they purchased the Hamilton Beach Walk ‘N Cut over a year ago and they deliberately waited to write a review so that they would be able to see if it held up and see if they liked it after using it for a long period of time. This person said “I love it”. They said that they liked the fact that it is compact and can be stored in a drawer and they also liked the fact that it holds a charge for a very long time. This person also said that they have not yet found a can it would not open.

Unfortunately there were also quite a lot of negative reviews. Although some of the people that left positive review said that the Hamilton Beach Walk ‘N Cut had no trouble opening most cans some of the negative reviewers said just the opposite. One person said that trying to get the Hamilton Beach 76500  Walk ‘N Cut to open a can is an exercise in frustration. Most of the negative reviews came from people who said that the can opener simply stopped working after a period of time. For some people it was six months, for others it was only a few weeks but many people said that it just wouldn’t work anymore even though was fully charged.

One of the negative reviews came from someone that purchased three of these can openers over a year ago. He kept one for himself and gave one to his mother and one to his sister. He said that his has been working great and he would have left a 5 star review if he didn’t know what happened with the other two. Both of the other two have stopped working in under a year.

There are plenty of positive reviews online for the Hamilton Beach 76500 Walk ‘N Cut Cordless Can Opener but nearly half of the reviews are negative comments from people saying that this can opener struggles to open cans or that it simply stopped working. In our opinion purchasing this can opener is a bit of a gamble.

I have had 3 of these for over ten years. They are the best can openers I have ever had. I only had to charge them about once a month and they worked great. Mine are worn out after opening thousands of cans over the years so I am trying to find a place to buy more at a reasonable price. I only want new ones and do not want used ones. Anybody know anywhere to buy these? They must of discontinued them.

this opener does open cans but is almost impossible to pierce the can with it. I must first pierce the can with a hand operated opener and then place the HB on the can and it will open the can. Very disapointed with the gadget. Recently purchased a toaster and decided that Hamilton Beach probably not a good idea.
