Samsung DMT800RHS Stainless Steel Dishwasher Review

Samsung DMT800RHS Stainless Steel Dishwasher

The Samsung DMT800RHS Fully Integrated Dishwasher uses a six layer insulation system which dampens the sound allowing you to wash your dishes without making a lot of noise. This dishwasher operates at 48 dBA and is one of the quietest dishwashers on the market. This machine is also an Energy Star rated appliance and uses just 280 kWh of electricity per year. It also uses water very efficiently, using just 4.76 gallons per cycle.

This dishwasher is very easy to load and the racks are removable and adjustable giving you a lot of options when it comes to loading your dishwasher. It also does a great job of drying your dishes with the help of the stainless steel tub which conceals the heating element but also helps to hold in heat for better drying.

The Reviews

The Samsung DMT800RHS Fully Integrated Dishwasher looks good on paper but unfortunately the reviews for this dishwasher are quite bad. Of course not all of the reviews are bad and there are a number of good reviews and positive comments but with over 300 reviews online this dishwasher received an average user rating of less than 3 stars.

We looked at user reviews on a number of different websites and only one site that had a lot of reviews also had a high average user rating. The Appliances Connection website had 46 reviews and an average 4.9 star user rating. However, they were the exception to the rule and most websites have user ratings that are much, much lower for this dishwasher. For example, Amazon.com has 29 reviews and an average 2.2 star user rating. Best Buy has 59 reviews and an average 3.2 star rating. On the Lowe’s website there are 126 reviews and an average 3.0 star user rating.

After spending just a few minutes researching reviews it was clear that most of the positive reviews came from people that have only owned this machine for a very short period of time. A number of the positive reviews start out by saying something like I’ve only had this model for about a week -or- I picked this up a couple of months ago. And then they go on to talk about all the things they liked about this machine.

For the people that have had this dishwasher for more than a few months the reviews are very different. A lot of the people that left negative reviews said that it worked great in the beginning and at first they were very happy with it. One customer said that they had the dishwasher for two months and it worked great. They said that it looks good and the dishes come out very clean and they were thrilled with its performance until one morning when it simply would not turn on. They said that the power console was completely blank and it is a part that needs to be special ordered. Once they got the issue repaired their dishwasher worked great again for two days and then the control unit displayed a different problem, an error message. A number of people mentioned getting the 5E error message appearing on the console which is a drainage error.

Another customer said that they owned the Samsung DMT800RHS for less than three months and have “had a multitude of problems with it”. Another customer said that they love Samsung but not this product. They purchased this dishwasher about a year ago and they have had a repair man come out every three months to replace plastic parts on the upper dish rack. This person said that a part from the upper rack breaks off and falls into the bottom of the dishwasher and then gets stuck in the food grinder and they had the same problem happen every three or four months.

There were over 300 reviews online for the Samsung DMT800RHS Fully Integrated Dishwasher and a very high percentage of them were negative reviews with some serious issues. We could spend all day going on and on about how many problems different people had but it is probably clear at this point that if you are considering purchasing the Samsung DMT800RHS you might want to use keep shopping and choose a different model.
