As any nutritionist worth their salt will tell you, breakfast is definitely the most important meal of the day. The right nutritious breakfast sets the stage for how the rest of your day is likely to go. Most people are fairly well set in their ways when it comes to the foods they choose for this all-important meal. However, not everyone around the world wakes up to the same foods as those of us in the US are used to seeing. Consider the following traditional breakfast dishes from around the globe:
French Breakfast

In France one of the most common dishes served for the morning repast is a baguette served with fresh creamy butter and jam. Most restaurants offer a wide range of breakfast pastries served with a fresh hot cup of coffee or perhaps a glass of ice cold fruit juice.
Japanese Breakfast

The typical breakfast in Japan tends to be savory rather than sweet. In most homes a dish of rice is often served with miso soup. Many homes serve rice porridge, which may or may not be accompanied by a side of pickled vegetables or perhaps some cooked fish. For a beverage most serve traditional green tea.
